What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also known clinically as collagen induction therapy, uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. Your body responds to that injury the way it responds to any small wound: by producing new collagen and elastin to repair it. Over a series of treatments, that repair process is what leaves skin smoother, firmer, and more even in texture.

PRX MICRONEEDLING PEN
Fine needles create controlled micro‑openings without heat or chemicals, reducing trauma and improving acne scar appearance. PRX Microneedling Pen is FDA‑approved, offering 14 stainless‑steel needles (0.25–2.5 mm depth range).
VIVACE RF MICRONEEDLING
Vivace® is an advanced, FDA-cleared RF microneedling treatment with minimal downtime for many patients. Microneedling combined with radio frequency energy and red and blue light therapy delivers heat into the skin alongside the needles for a more pronounced tightening effect.
SKINPEN®
Natural and safe for all skin types for acne scarring, fine lines and texture and can be used year-round.
SkinPen® is FDA approved and offers precise, adjustable needle depths up to 2.5 mm, allowing your provider to tailor each treatment based on the area being treated and the skin concerns.

What does your microneedling appointment look like?
Your first visit at Collins Vitality Spa starts with a consultation. We'll evaluate your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and determine whether microneedling is the right treatment for you. Before we begin, we'll explain every step of the process, answer your questions, and review what to expect before, during, and after treatment. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to maximize your comfort, and most patients describe the treatment as feeling like gentle pressure with a warm, scratchy sensation.
Microneedling treatments typically take about 30 to 45 minutes after numbing is complete. Because collagen remodeling happens gradually, improvements continue to develop over the weeks following treatment. While many patients notice brighter, smoother skin after a single session, a series of treatments is often recommended to achieve the best results for concerns such as acne scars, texture, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Is microneedling safe?
Yes, when performed by a trained provider with sterile, single-use needle tips. Side effects are typically limited to redness and mild swelling that resolves within a few days.
What's the difference between PRX Pen, SkinPen, and Vivace?
PRN Pen and SkinPen are standard microneedling pens, well suited for surface texture and mild concerns. Vivace adds radiofrequency energy for deeper collagen stimulation and more noticeable tightening, often the better fit for more significant scarring or skin laxity. We'll recommend one based on your skin and goals.
How many sessions do I need?
Most patients need 3 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for full results, though this varies depending on what you're treating and which device we use.
Can microneedling be combined with PRP?

Is there downtime with microneedling?
Minimal. Most patients look similar to a mild sunburn for one to three days, and makeup can typically be worn again the next day.
