At Collins Vitality, treatments are performed using the Cutera Xeo® platform, an FDA-cleared system that combines the Nd:YAG laser and LimeLight IPL handpiece in one versatile device. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a broad‑spectrum light treatment used for pigment, redness, sun damage, acne, and overall skin rejuvenation. It’s often called a photofacial and is one of the most versatile light‑based treatments in aesthetics. IPL uses multiple wavelengths of light to target melanin (brown) and hemoglobin (red), improving discoloration and texture with minimal downtime.

What does a laser appointment look like?
Your first appointment begins with a consultation. We'll evaluate your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and recommend the treatment (or combination of treatments) that's right for you. Before we begin, we'll explain exactly what to expect, including how the treatment feels, any preparation that's needed, and what recovery looks like.
Most appointments take between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the treatment and the area being addressed. Laser Genesis feels like gentle warmth, while IPL, hair removal, and vein treatments produce brief pulses of heat that most patients tolerate well. Most treatments involve little to no downtime, though IPL may cause temporary redness and darkening of pigmented spots before they naturally flake away over the following week.

LASER GENESIS
Skin rejuvenation and texture
Ideal for:
rosacea, diffuse redness, acne scarring, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, and early fine lines
A gentle, non-ablative 1064nm Nd:YAG laser treatment that stimulates collagen production in the dermis without damaging the skin's surface. The result over a series of sessions is smoother texture, reduced redness, tighter pores, and softer fine lines. Often called a lunchtime treatment because there's genuinely no downtime. Patients come in, get treated, and go straight back to their day.
IPL PHOTOFACIAL (LIMELIGHT)
Pigmentation and tone
Ideal for:
hyperpigmentation, sun damage, age spots, broken capillaries, rosacea, and uneven skin tone
The LimeLight handpiece delivers intense pulsed light across a range of wavelengths targeting melanin and hemoglobin in the skin. Brown spots, sun damage, and broken capillaries absorb the light energy and break down over the following one to two weeks, revealing clearer, more even skin underneath. Best on the face, neck, chest, and hands, and most effective on lighter skin tones.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Long-term hair reduction
Ideal for:
hyperpigmentation, sun damage, age spots, broken capillaries, rosacea, and uneven skin tone
The Nd:YAG laser targets melanin in the hair follicle at a wavelength that safely bypasses melanin in the surrounding skin, which is what makes it effective and safe for darker skin types where many hair removal lasers aren't appropriate. A series of sessions is required since hair grows in cycles and only follicles in the active growth phase respond to each treatment. Most patients achieve significant long-term reduction after six to eight sessions. Available on the face, underarms, bikini area, legs, back, and more.
LAMPROBE
Minor skin irregularities
The LAMPROBE uses high-frequency radiofrequency current delivered through a fine probe tip to instantly treat minor surface irregularities. Skin tags, milia, cholesterol deposits, sebaceous hyperplasia, cherry angiomas, and broken capillaries can typically be addressed in a single session with no cutting, no downtime, and visible results immediately. Sun protection for two weeks afterward is the only post-care requirement.
LASER VEIN
Spider veins & capillaries
The Nd:YAG vascular laser delivers heat energy directly into the target vein or capillary, causing it to collapse and gradually fade over the following weeks. Effective on facial veins, spider veins on the legs, cherry angiomas, and broken capillaries. Quick, with minimal discomfort and no downtime.

Common questions about laser aesthetics
Are laser treatments safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, with the right device. Many IPL-only systems are not appropriate for Fitzpatrick skin types IV through VI because they target melanin broadly and can cause burns or hyperpigmentation on darker skin. Our Nd:YAG laser at 1064nm bypasses superficial melanin to reach the target tissue safely, making it one of the few laser options that works effectively across all skin tones.
What are the side effects of laser treatment?
Side effects depend on the treatment. Laser Genesis typically produces mild redness that fades within hours. IPL can cause temporary darkening of brown spots, light crusting, and redness for three to seven days as the treated pigment rises to the surface and flakes off — this is the expected response and a sign it's working. Laser hair removal and vein treatments produce brief warmth and mild redness that usually resolves the same day. LAMPROBE may leave a small crust at the treated site that heals within one to two weeks.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most patients achieve significant long-term hair reduction after six to eight sessions, spaced four to eight weeks apart depending on the treatment area. Hair grows in cycles, and each session targets follicles in the active growth phase, multiple sessions are required to reach follicles at different stages.
Can I combine laser treatments with other services?
Yes. Laser Genesis and IPL pair well with microneedling or a VI Peel as part of a more complete skin improvement plan, though treatments are typically spaced out rather than done on the same day. Your provider will help you sequence things appropriately.
Is there any downtime?
Most laser treatments here involve little to no downtime. The main exception is IPL, which can cause visible changes to treated spots for up to a week. Laser Genesis, hair removal, and vein treatments typically let you return to normal activity immediately. LAMPROBE requires sun protection for two weeks but no activity restrictions.
