Medical weight loss to improve your health & body confidence
NUTRITION, GLP-1, FAT BURNERS, & BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS IN GLENDALE, AZ
Medical weight loss isn't a diet plan or a prescription handed over at the end of a five-minute appointment. It's a clinically supervised approach that starts by understanding what your body is doing. Your hormone levels, metabolic markers, body composition, and health history are all part of the discussion before we make any recommendations. For many patients, the reason previous attempts didn't work out wasn't a lack of willpower; it was a lack of the whole picture of health.

What is medical weight loss at Collins Vitality?
At Collins Vitality, medical weight loss begins with a comprehensive consultation and laboratory evaluation to understand your unique health picture. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan that may include GLP-1 medications, lipotropic injections,
nutrition coaching, InBody body composition analysis, and other evidence-based therapies. We carefully recommend therapies to support your long-term success.

Is medical weight loss right for you?
Medical weight loss is most effective for people facing real barriers, not just those seeking a quick result. If you've been eating well, moving regularly, and still not seeing progress, there's often a clinical reason and we're here to help you with that.
Weight that hasn't responded to diet and exercise despite consistent effort
Hormonal changes, including perimenopause, menopause, or low testosterone, affecting body composition
Wanting to complement a GLP-1 medication with nutritional and body composition support
Looking for medically supervised structure rather than trying to manage it alone
Using body contouring treatments and wanting to support results through the metabolic side as well
When your body is working against you
Sometimes, weight loss resistance has nothing to do with the effort you're putting in; it's just something in your body's chemistry that hasn't been identified yet. A few of the most common underlying factors we look for and address:

Thyroid dysfunction
Hypothyroidism slows metabolic rate and can make meaningful weight loss nearly impossible, regardless of diet or exercise. Even subclinical thyroid dysfunction, TSH levels that are technically within normal range but suboptimal, can be enough to stall progress. We assess thyroid function as part of the initial lab panel. For patients who need it,
dedicated thyroid management
is available alongside weight loss support.

Insulin resistancE
When cells stop responding normally to insulin, the body compensates by producing more of it, which promotes fat storage, particularly around the abdomen, and makes it significantly harder to access stored fat for energy. GLP-1 medications directly address insulin sensitivity, which is one reason they're so effective for patients with this pattern.
HORMONAL IMBALANCES
Low estrogen, low testosterone, elevated cortisol, and other hormonal shifts directly affect where the body stores fat and how readily it releases it. If hormones haven't been looked at, weight loss resistance often can't be fully explained without that piece.
Hormone therapy for women and
hormone therapy for men
are natural complements for patients where this is a factor.

STRESS & CORTISOL
Chronic stress elevates cortisol, which drives visceral fat accumulation, disrupts sleep, increases appetite for calorie-dense foods, and impairs the body's ability to recover from exercise. Addressing this as a clinical variable, rather than just lifestyle advice, is part of building a plan that works for you.

Why patients choose Collins Vitality for Medical Weight Loss
Most weight loss programs start with what they want to sell you. We start with labs, an InBody scan, and a
meaningful
real conversation about your history, lifestyle and goals. The right approach for someone with insulin resistance and low thyroid function looks completely different from the right approach for someone whose hormones are fine but who needs metabolic support during a stressful season of life. We see patients from Glendale and across the greater Phoenix area for exactly that reason. With decades of experience in wellness, we want you to know we take our jobs seriously and genuinely value professionalism. This is not a one-size-fits-all plan. Our recommendations are personalized because results come from treating the individual.
What does your weight loss appointment look like?
Before anything is prescribed or recommended, we complete a thorough evaluation of your health history, current medications, lifestyle, and goals. Depending on your needs, your assessment may also include laboratory testing and an InBody body composition analysis to provide additional insight into factors like body fat, skeletal muscle, and body composition. From there, we develop a personalized plan and continue to adjust it as your body responds.
Weight management isn't a single visit; it's an ongoing clinical relationship where the plan adjusts as your body responds. InBody body composition analysis provides valuable information beyond the number on the scale, informing treatment decisions because two people at the same weight can have very different body composition and metabolic needs.

Our approaches to weight loss
GLP-1 is great for some people, but there are also other approaches we offer that have made a big impact with our patients.
GLP-1 Medications
GLP-1 receptor agonists are currently the most effective pharmacological tools available for medical weight management. They work by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone that signals the brain and gut to reduce hunger, slow gastric emptying, and improve insulin sensitivity.
These weekly subcutaneous injections are prescribed as part of a personalized medical weight loss program with ongoing provider oversight. Regular follow-up visits allow us to monitor your progress, assess tolerability and side effects, review laboratory findings when appropriate, and adjust your treatment plan as your needs evolve.
MICC SHOTS & lipo-mino max c.
MIC stands for methionine, inositol, and choline, three compounds that work together to support fat metabolism and liver function. Methionine helps the liver process and export fat. Inositol supports insulin signaling and fat transport. Choline is essential for lipid metabolism and prevents fatty buildup in the liver. Combined with cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) to support energy production and red blood cell production, these MIC shots are used as an adjunct to a broader weight-loss plan and are not a standalone solution. Most patients receive them weekly alongside dietary changes or during a GLP-1 protocol.
PHENTERMINE
Phentermine is an FDA-approved appetite suppressant that works by stimulating the release of norepinephrine in the brain, reducing hunger signals and increasing energy expenditure. It's a short-term tool, typically prescribed for 12 weeks or fewer, most useful in the early stages of a weight-loss plan when initial momentum matters most, or as a bridge while a GLP-1 medication takes effect. Because it's a Schedule IV controlled substance, it requires full clinical screening and isn't appropriate for patients with cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or a history of stimulant sensitivity.
BODY CONTOURING INTEGRATION
As weight changes, body composition and contours change with it, and not always in the direction patients want. Combining medical weight loss with
TruSculpt and TruFlex body scupting allows us to address fat reduction and muscle toning simultaneously, which is especially useful for patients on GLP-1 medications who want to maintain muscle mass as their weight drops.

Common questions about medical weight loss
What are MICC shots and do they actually work?
MIC shots, also called MICC injections, contain methionine, inositol, choline, and cyanocobalamin (B12). They support fat metabolism in the liver and improve the body's ability to process and eliminate fat more efficiently. They work best as part of a broader weight loss plan rather than as a standalone treatment, and most patients use them weekly alongside dietary changes or a GLP-1 protocol.
What are the benefits of MICC shots for weight loss?
The benefits of MIC shots include support for liver fat metabolism, improved energy through the B12 component, and enhanced fat-burning efficiency when combined with diet, exercise, or a GLP-1 medication. They don't produce significant weight loss on their own, and we won't tell you otherwise, but as an adjunct, they're a well-tolerated and useful tool.
Are GLP-1 medications safe?
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are FDA-approved medications with extensive clinical trial data behind them. Like any prescription medication, they have a side effect profile, most commonly nausea, particularly in the early titration phase, and they require screening for certain contraindications before prescribing. We don't prescribe them without a full clinical review, and we stay involved as you use them.
Will I need to stay on medication forever?
Not necessarily. Some patients use GLP-1 medications as a bridge to establish new habits and body composition, then taper under supervision. Others benefit from long-term use, particularly if there's an underlying metabolic condition. The goal is always the most effective plan with the least intervention required to sustain it, and that's a conversation we revisit over time rather than decide at the start.
What is the Vitality Nutrition Program?
Vitality nutrition coaching and tracking program we use to complement the clinical side of weight management. It starts with an InBody body composition scan, builds a macro plan around your actual metabolic baseline rather than a generic calorie target, and uses coaching and the proprietary mobile app to keep things actionable over time.
How is this different from a diet program or weight loss app?
A diet program gives everyone roughly the same advice. We start with your labs, your body composition, your health history, and your specific barriers, and build from there. The medication options, injection support, nutrition program, and body contouring are all optional tools, not a required package. What you actually need is what we recommend.
