BALANCED HORMONES FOR FEELING YOUR BEST IN GLENDALE, AZ

Hormonal changes can start as early as your 30s and continue well past menopause. Changes in estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone can disrupt your life. Our goal with hormone therapy isn't just to treat a number on a lab report; it's to help you feel like yourself again.

What is hormone replacement therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a personalized, medically guided approach to treating the hormonal changes that can occur during perimenopause, menopause, or after surgical menopause. As hormone levels naturally decline, many women experience symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, mood changes, hot flashes, brain fog, low libido, and vaginal dryness.

Collins Vitality's layered care approach offers plans that may include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or a combination of therapies based on your symptoms, medical history, lab results, and personal goals. We offer a variety of treatment options, including FDA-approved and compounded therapies to help you feel your best while supporting your long-term health and well-being.

Women's hormone therapy options

Here are the most common types of therapies that make a noticeable difference for women on HRT.

BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE PELLETS

A longer-acting option for patients who prefer not to think about daily dosing. Small, compounded pellets containing estrogen and/or testosterone are placed just beneath the skin during a brief in-office procedure and gradually release hormone over several months. Hormone pellets are not FDA-approved

ESTROGEN PATCHES

Transdermal estradiol patches deliver estrogen through the skin and are typically changed once or twice weekly, depending on the prescription. They're a convenient, FDA-approved option that allows dosing to be adjusted as your needs change.

TROCHES & CREAMS

Compounded hormones can also be prescribed in forms such as troches or topical creams. Depending on your needs, formulations may include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or a combination of hormones, with dosing individualized to your treatment plan. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved.

ORAL PROGESTERONE

For women who need progesterone as part of their hormone plan, oral micronized progesterone may be prescribed on its own or alongside estrogen therapy. Whether it's appropriate—and how it's dosed—depends on your symptoms, stage of life, medical history, and overall treatment plan.

The word "bioidentical" describes the hormone itself—not how it’s made or delivered. Some bioidentical hormones, such as estradiol patches and oral micronized progesterone, are available as FDA-approved medications. Others can be custom-compounded into forms such as creams, troches, or pellets. We choose the formulation and delivery method based on your individual needs, preferences, and treatment plan.

What does your HRT appointment look like?

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation. We consider your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and health goals before reviewing any previous lab work or ordering additional testing, if needed. Together, we'll determine if hormone replacement therapy is appropriate and discuss the treatment options that best fit your needs.

Because hormone therapy is highly personalized, your treatment plan may include pellets, injections, creams, patches, troches, capsules, or other therapies depending on your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and preferences. After treatment begins, we'll continue to adjust your plan as needed and support you every step of the way to help you achieve the best possible results.

There’s a moment many women experience where something starts to feel… different. Energy becomes inconsistent. Sleep no longer feels restorative. Weight distribution changes despite doing “all the right things.” Focus feels harder. Motivation dips. Skin changes. Mood shifts. And sometimes, there’s simply a quiet feeling of not fully feeling like yourself anymore. For many women, these changes begin gradually during perimenopause and menopause. The challenge is that they’re often easy to dismiss at first. Life is busy. Stress is high. Careers, relationships, caregiving, and everyday responsibilities can make it difficult to recognize when symptoms may be connected to deeper hormonal changes. Many women acclimate to feeling unwell and assume it’s simply part of aging or something they’re expected to push through. But feeling unlike yourself is not something you necessarily have to accept. At Collins Vitality in Glendale, Arizona, we believe health, energy, confidence, and wellbeing are deeply connected. Hormonal changes don’t only affect one area of the body. They influence how we feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and even how we move through our everyday lives. Perimenopause & Menopause Symptoms Are About More Than Hot Flashes When people think about menopause, they often think only about hot flashes and night sweats. While those symptoms are certainly common, hormonal changes can show up in many different ways. Common perimenopause and menopause symptoms may include: Fatigue or decreased stamina Brain fog or poor concentration Mood changes or irritability Anxiety or low motivation Sleep disruption or insomnia Weight gain or changes in body composition Increased abdominal weight Decreased muscle mass Dry skin or changes in skin elasticity Headaches or migraines Vaginal dryness or discomfort Low libido Joint or muscle discomfort These symptoms may begin during perimenopause, often years before menopause officially occurs. And because symptoms vary from person to person, there is never a one-size-fits-all experience. For some women, symptoms are mild. For others, they can significantly affect quality of life, relationships, confidence, sleep, and daily functioning. Why Many Women Feel Dismissed One of the most common frustrations we hear from women is: “My labs were normal, but I still don’t feel good.” Many women do exactly what they’re supposed to do. They see their provider, complete routine lab work, and are told everything looks “fine.” Yet they still feel exhausted, mentally foggy, emotionally off-balance, or unlike themselves. Hormonal health is nuanced. Reference ranges are designed to identify broad population averages, but they do not always reflect where an individual person feels their best. That’s why we believe listening matters. At Collins Vitality, our approach to women’s wellness and hormone optimization is highly individualized. We look at the full picture: Symptoms Medical history Lifestyle Stress levels Sleep Thyroid health Metabolic health Family history Preventative screenings Personal goals Hormonal symptoms can overlap with other concerns such as thyroid dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, metabolic changes, or stress-related issues. Our goal is not simply to “treat a lab.” It’s to understand what may be contributing to how you’re feeling and create a thoughtful, personalized plan from there. Hormones, Skin, Energy & Metabolism Are Connected One of the biggest misconceptions about hormonal health is that symptoms exist separately from one another. In reality, the body functions as an interconnected system. Hormones influence: Sleep quality Muscle preservation Metabolism Cognitive function Skin health Bone density Mood regulation Energy production Libido and intimacy Recovery and resilience For example, estrogen plays an important role in collagen production, skin hydration, elasticity, and circulation. Testosterone supports muscle mass, motivation, metabolic health, and workout recovery. Sleep quality influences energy, mood, cognition, and weight regulation. When these systems become imbalanced, the effects are rarely isolated. That’s why our philosophy at Collins Vitality centers around layered care and integrated vitality. We believe feeling good internally and feeling confident externally were never meant to be separate things. A Personalized Approach to Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can be one tool used to support women experiencing hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause. Treatment may help support: Energy Sleep quality Mood stability Muscle preservation Libido Skin health Metabolic function Overall quality of life At Collins Vitality, we customize treatment plans based on each individual patient’s symptoms, goals, history, labs, and overall health picture. Treatment options may include: Pellet therapy Topical hormone creams Sublingual troches Estrogen patches Progesterone support Lifestyle and nutritional guidance Weight management support Thyroid optimization There is no universal “best” option for everyone. Hormone therapy should be tailored thoughtfully and monitored carefully over time. Follow-up and monitoring are equally important. Hormonal therapy is not a “set it and forget it” process. Doses may shift depending on symptoms, labs, lifestyle changes, and overall response. Our role is to guide that process carefully while prioritizing education, safety, and long-term wellbeing. Menopause Is Natural — But Feeling Miserable Doesn’t Have To Be Aging is natural. Hormonal shifts are natural. But that does not mean women should feel dismissed or unsupported while navigating them. We believe women deserve conversations that are: Educational Compassionate Personalized Realistic Free from pressure or shame The goal is not perfection. It’s not “turning back the clock.” And it’s not becoming a different version of yourself. The goal is to support your body in a way that helps you feel more like yourself again. More steady. More energized. More clear-headed. More comfortable in your skin. More supported through the season of life you’re in now. Hormone Therapy & Women’s Wellness in Glendale, Arizona At Collins Vitality, we believe health and confidence are deeply connected. We also believe patients deserve providers who listen carefully, educate honestly, and look beyond isolated symptoms. Hormonal health is never just about one lab value or one symptom. It’s about understanding how the body’s systems work together and creating a plan that supports the whole person. If you’ve been feeling “off” lately, know that you are not alone — and you do not have to navigate it without support. Sometimes, small and thoughtful adjustments can make a meaningful difference in how you feel every day.

Common questions about hormone therapy

  • What is a troche, exactly?

A troche is a small, dissolvable tablet that you place under your tongue or in your cheek. This allows hormone to be absorbed through the tissues of the mouth, bypassing the digestive system and much of the liver's first-pass metabolism.

  • Is bioidentical hormone therapy safe?

Bioidentical hormones are chemically identical to hormones your body naturally produces. Like any hormone therapy, whether treatment is appropriate depends on your individual health history, symptoms, risk factors, the hormones being considered, and how they're given. That's why we start with a full consultation and lab review and continue to monitor your response throughout treatment.

  • How do I know if pellets, troches, or patches are right for me?

There isn't one delivery method that's best for every woman. We consider your symptoms, medical history, preferences, lifestyle, lab results and treatment goals when discussing available options. Your provider will review the benefits and considerations of each approach before developing your treatment plan.

  • How soon will I notice a difference?

Some symptoms, like hot flashes or sleep quality, can improve within the first few weeks. Others, like bone density or long-term mood stability, build gradually over months. We'll check in along the way rather than waiting for a single follow-up visit.
